6 Podcasts for the Hungry Soul

Podcasts are my best friend (ACTUALLY, I AM CONVINCED THE PEOPLE ON THESE PODCASTS ARE MY ACTUAL BEST FRIENDS, RIGHT GUYS? LET'S HANG OUT SOON!). It's because my work as a stay-at-home mom demands a lot of my body but often not a lot of my mind. While I'm folding laundry or cooking dinner or burning dinner, it's so fun to be able to listen to edifying content that's less commitment than an audiobook (although I love a good audiobook and for the record, I also love commitment. HI LUKE! YOU'RE MY BOYFRIEND FOREVER!).

Honestly? The kitchen sink has been a sacred space in my house because of the way many of these podcasts episodes have reminded me of gospel truth. There are more awesome podcasts out there that I love, but I wanted to be sure to recommend these since, you know, these people are my BEST FRIENDS in actual real life, not in my head or anything.

Glorious in the Mundane with Christy Nockels

I already was a fan of her singing voice and her hair, but this podcast is even better than I would have guessed. Christy is profound, calming, and trust-worthy. You can tell she’s an artist and a worshipper in every episode, and she has a way of reminding us that God is present in our everyday moments.

Risen Motherhood

This pair of sisters-in-law are using topics like mom bods, decorating, discipline, anger, and more to point to the gospel. They also have some incredible tools if you’re interested in inductive Bible study or want to train your children to study that way.

That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs

DUH, I started listening to this from the title. If you’re familiar with the Enneagram, Annie is a full-on 7, and every single episode will make you laugh. She’s wise, too, and her guests are top-notch.

Journeywomen Podcast with Hunter Beless

My friends and I joke that we are friends with Hunter, but we’re pretty sure Hunter doesn’t know that. She’s a killer question-asker, and her guests are full of wisdom. You will come away challenged!

Flower Mound Women's Bible Study

Listening to this podcast is basically a non-creepy way for me to eavesdrop on one of my favorite Bible teachers, Jen Wilkin! You can download and print the workbooks and read along, then listen to the corresponding podcast when you’re ready. This is a great option if you want the benefit attending a challenging Bible study yet don’t have the ability to attend one.

Revelation Wellness, Episode #200

This is one of the only podcast episodes I’ve heard that compelled me to take notes and to listen twice. It’s insanely thought-provoking and will rock your world when it comes to technology, platform, and the idea of “deep work.” Grab a pen and go listen now!
